Camden Women’s Charity Day – 2021

On Monday 19th April the ladies held their Annual Charity Day, which was raising funds for Shining Stars Foundation. We had a full field of 116 ladies who rocked up to play in the days event – a 4 Person Ambrose. The weather was perfect, the champagne on the 12th was flowing (thanks to Bev Chapman and Maggie Brent who were our official pourers for the day!). The day ran smoothly, and the atmosphere both on the course in the clubhouse after was that of great positivity! The total funds raised for Shining Stars Foundation was $12,654 – an incredible effort by all!

We had Adriana Macdonald and Greg Matheson out on the 12th bombing drives for the ladies on to the green – there was nearly a hole in one for Greg – close, but not close enough! An enormous amount of thanks goes to both Adriana and Greg for your time and your skill.

Results for the day are as follows:

  • 1st Nett:  Jacinta Maas, Bernadette Johnston, Ann Morrell & Leanne Stanton (58.375)
  • 1st Scratch:  Sue Marsh, Candice Bell, Melinda Ross & Wendy Hyndman (69 C/B)
  • 2nd Nett:  Rita De Jong, Maria Thorn, Dirkje Kingma & Carol Daniels (59.875)
  • 3rd Nett:  Wanda Kozinski, Shelley Chapman, Patricia Morrison & Judy Page (60.3875)

For a day like Monday to go ahead there is a whole village of people that are working relentlessly behind the scenes. First and foremost, thanks must go to Annie Brady and Geri Beaven who for the last three months have rallied to collect donations from local companies for our generous prize pool. They have also worked tirelessly with me to ensure that the running of the day was flawless.

The following all had a hand in making the day the success that it was, so thankyou:

  • The ladies committee for helping with setup and pack down.
  • Sharon and the Camden team for setting up tables, liaising with the kitchen, etc.
  • Pete Southby – for the course set up and pack down.
  • Stuart Meani – for organizing cards and carts.
  • Camden Women Golfers – for your generous donations for both prizes and raffles.

And last, but not least – where would we be without our Sponsors. A large portion of our funds raised are from our hole sponsors. We are greatly appreciative of your support.

Gold Sponsors:

Camden Tyre service, JLM Conveyancing & Quickdraw Mechanical Services.

Silver Sponsors:

Crown Electrical & INET Pty Ltd.

Bronze Sponsors:

Veneer Stone, Admark Constructions, TRN Group, Focus Wealth Advisers, Dignan & Hanrahan Solicitors & Rita and Dirkje.

Thank you to all ladies that participated in the days event – whether it be playing golf or coming and enjoying lunch with us all. The money raised, and the days success is a true testament to the ‘village’ we have at Camden Golf Club.

Regards, Shelley Chapman – Camden Ladies Captain.

Women’s Camden Cup/Liz Kernohan Trophy

On Saturday May 25th our annual Women’s Camden Cup (Liz Kernohan trophy) was held. The weather was perfect, and much praise must go to Justin and his team who presented a beautiful course on the day. 48 ladies took part in the day, the largest start in the past 5 years, with nearly as many visitors as Camden Members. We had ladies from the following clubs: Campbelltown, Glenmore, Penrith, Highlands, Wyong, The Grange, Wollongong, Shoalhaven Heads, Bexley, Hurstville and Cabramatta.

The top seed for the event, Kendell Hunt won the Camden Cup with a score of 83. Congratulations must also go to Kendell for winning the MAYDAY Trophy (best Camden Nett) and the longest drive.  Shelley Chapman was runner up with a score of 83. The best Nett Score on the day was Stacey South from Glenmore with a nett score of 76, and Patricia Gleeson winning Overall Nett Runner Up.

Congratulations goes to all winners on the day, a full list of winners can be seen in the link below.

And lastly, but not least; many thanks to our sponsors for the day. Camden Golf Club and the Camden Ladies, Jacinta from JLM Conveyancing, and David and Mark Bexon from Macarthur SteelFixing. The day’s events could not be made possible without the generous donations of those mentioned above.

Women’s Charity Golf Day – 2018

This year we were raising money to support a local Macarthur Charity, Shining Stars Foundation.  It was a wonderful day with a large field competing on our beautiful course.  The ladies were most complimentary of how wonderfully the course was presented.

We are very proud to have raised over $10,000 for this wonderful cause.  The funds raised will be used to buy food, household goods and daily living needs for local individuals and families who are destitute.  Every dollar we have given to Shining Stars will be used to help those in need.

Adriana Brent and our “Super” Director Greg Matheson were a wonderful help on the 12th.  They took our drives whilst we enjoyed a glass of champagne – it was great to be able to watch their style.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors:
